Are You Sure? Be A Minister?
► My observation is that being a Minister of the Jewish/Christian Bible is nearly the most frustrating of all positions a person could end up doing.◄
I believe according to the Bible that this job is exclusively given by God to men.. the male species.. the ones born a he him his and remain with that identity.
When Jesus (Joshua is closer to His real name.. which means "Yahweh is salvation" or "is deliverance") was in Galilee, He picked a special 12 men as Apostles. There were others also that were disciples. The most popular of these 'others' mentioned is "the seventy".
Among these 12 was one that was not from Galilee : Judas Iscariot.
At one point in Jesus' Ministry, he sent these men out to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, cast out devils, and even raise the dead! Wow. Matthew 10:5-31
This was before Pentecost happened, which was when Elohim, Holy Spirit, Holy Ghost .. all the same .. entered into mere mortals. Acts 2
These men went out having a powerful deliverance ministry. Today they would be religious superstars. But interestingly, they were not converted with a New Birth yet. This proves that signs and wonders can be deceptive if in the hands of a fake.
Of the 12 Apostles, only 11 made it to the day of Pentecost, God's Victory Day. Everything since Genesis 1:1 was pointing to that day.
Now for this post, we are talking about Ministers and their position in the pulpit they have to tolerate. They talk and talk and talk from the pulpit, but reality is they can only speak things - but only God can give someone listening a revelation, line upon line. This is the only 'job' in the world that is not a job of knowledge transfer. A Minister gives, but only God can quicken it alive to a listener. The Minister's success will only be known at the Judgment Day. Mat 25
Simply put, you can teach anyone how to fix a car, or cook an egg, or build a rocket, or sew stitches on a wound, or ride a bicycle, or polish a doorknob - but in order for God's Word to be successful, God has to make it come alive for a person. And He does it one line at a time in His Own time. Ministers just speak it. Equally, just reading the Bible requires God's supernatural quickening.
Preachers are truly servants. Or slaves to God. The humblest of all positions in a Church is the man at the pulpit preaching. If his position doesn't make him smaller with each revelation God reveals to him, then he has detoured from his position.
He's not the boss. He's not the son of the master when in the pulpit. He is the servant or slave to the Master that brings what he feels the Master has given him. He shares it with the Master's Wife, or Children, or employees .. which is the congregation. He is just the servant. The congregation honors the servant because the servant speaks on his Master's behalf, not his own. Yes, that should humble any Minister.
I personally would not want to be a Minister for one reason, I cannot make myself small enough.
This is what I believe.. comma,
