Yes. God 'created' evil by essentially snubbing him from revelation. The only way satan could know what to believe was if God revealed it to him. Without revelation satan is like wecare without revelation. All we have left is our own thinking.
If someone said, "If you go to the Sun and land at a specific coordinate, there is a huge city there that is all love and happiness. Go! Hurry! Go!"
Well, there is no way of knowing how to do this. We have no concept on how to safely go to this mysterious place. We have no concept of God or how to go to the Kingdom He has planned.
Without revelation, we are on our own. Or : Without the instruction manual and training, no one could build a space shuttle.
So when we are doing things the best we can with only our brains.. that is sin, or the 'sin nature'. Sin is unbelief.
Now if we have been given revelation by God about something, and then toss it in the trash, that's called 'sinning'. Our languages are very limited on words to use.
So SIN, is unbelief caused many times by not knowing what to believe - so we go and trust our brain again.
God doesn't scream and yell at us for that. He totally understands. Without Him it is impossible to know what to believe, how to believe, when to believe, or even if we believe.
Remember Jesus clearly told Peter that it was God that revealed to Peter that Jesus is the Christ.
Lying, smoking, drinking, cussing, hating, fighting, stealing, lusting, ... etc are all sidekicks of sin.. sidekicks of unbelief.
Iniquity is another way to say "I did it myyyy wayyy."
Sin is another way of saying "evil". Evil is defined as something disfunctional to God's final Kingdom.
Sin, evil, iniquity .. is basically just repeating the same thing. That is : 'Anything that is not revelation from God, gets placed in the sin category, the unbelief category.
That puts us all in the same pot. We are born in 'sin'.. unbelief.. not knowing what to believe.. not even knowing we are suppose to believe something.
All the rest of the stuff we do as we try to care for ourselves is brain stuff, not revelation, thus it is called 'sin' nature.
Jesus (Joshua) died for that spiritually useless human brain talk. By becoming a human, homo sapien mammal, Jesus could step in to die for the thing He created/made in the first place.
God is responsible for what He does in His Plan. His Plan was to have brains challenge revelation. Humans can willfully choose which they want. Because God caused or allowed it, He would take the punch for it. God will owe no many anything. He went even lower than satan. He became the serpent on the pole. Jesus went to hell. No one will ever be able to say "It's not fair! God, you don't understand!" Oh yes He does. God has been lower than His Own Creation.
So Jesus, the weak mammal, gets nailed to the cross, died, went to hell, rose back up showing He truly is Boss of His Creation, and then started the New Creation continuum: The Day of Pentecost. GodMen. Elohim dwelling in 'sin' born homo sapien mammals. Now these homo sapiens could have Elohim in them.
God let satan know the days of brain is over. Now it would be Elohim Himself inside humans that have had this true New Birth.
They sacrificed a 'lamb' in the Hebrew Testament days. That is a baby sheep with the best meat. That is an animal. That is a mammal. It represented many things, but it showed the days of human brain things was ending. Elohim and Revelation in a person; is the New Covenant.
Jesus ( Joshua : God of Salvation/Deliverance) came and put the human mammal on display. It is finished. Unbelief just met its victorious match. In 50 days the mystery would be fulfilled. Christ in you, the hope of glory.. would happen.
Remember, right now in our time in God's Plan, He is 'convicting' people to look to Him. The one condemning is satan, the one that sidetracks us from actual 'SIN' and redefines it as all the sidekicks. On and on he goes with more and more sidekicks and then more condemning. It is all a farce. Humans thought they could keep the brain law, or the commandments given by God in the Hebrew Testament. Humans couldn't. God knew that but He wanted us to realize we couldn't. We were in the jail of unbelief with no way of knowing how to believe. We all needed revelation walk.
Jesus then expanded those 'laws' clarifying to those who felt righteous, that they were still far out of the stadium. Example : Instead of thou shalt not commit adultery, Jesus expanded it to if you even look at a woman to lust for her - you've already committed adultery in your heart. Game Over.
So God says, if you choke during the day, here is the prescription : repent to me, then move on.
He adds for us to pray, seek, hunger, and ask for revelation. And God is always Faithful to His Promise to do that. "I will never leave nor forsake you." Hebrews 13:5
Remember :
God convicts. And satan condemns. Convicting by God will only change at the Final Judgment when God puts on the robe of Judge.
Sin is unbelief. We are simply blind. We need revelation daily from God.
And 'sinning' is just the sidekick stuff that happens because we are blind.
Our goal is to try to not do 'sinning' sidekick stuff. If we do, we use the medicine of repenting.
Our great desire on the journey, is to constantly ask God to reveal more about Himself to us and show us where that revelation is mentioned in Scripture. And Scripture is our Absolute.
