Think about it, the Jews didn't kill Jesus. He just allowed Rome to kill him - but remember, only because he let them. But after that, it was the Jews killing the ones that were called "Christians". It was later that they were called Christians, a term which could put them in a box. Why kill Jesus and Christians? Mostly because of political and financial reasons that were being hindered by Jesus. Positions of power were threatened. The Jews themselves were very used to Gentile pagans and their multi god fiascos. It's just that this time they were using something that was close to their heart : Elohim. And later, the old friends of Paul didn't like what he was doing and so they tended to follow him around and torment people who were followers of Jesus of Nazareth, and the day of Pentecost had really thrown the curve ball of this situation.
