Death = Separation from God Dead or Alive

So.. death.  You troublesome thing.

Although this is not a pertinent topic for salvation,  it is one of the most pondered by all humans through history.

I heard a Minister say that Cain was the first to die before Abel. That is profound and puts the cornerstone on this thing called death.

Cain truly had spiritually died before he ever killed Abel.

To be separate from God is what death actually is.  The day you eat the day you die.  Adam was then sent out of the Garden and no longer had that Oneness with God.  He died.

Jesus discussed immoral women saying they are dead while they yet live (1Timothy5:6).  He spoke of Abraham that God is not God of the dead but of the living (Matthew 22:32).

Humans can have God with them, God in them, or God away from them.  When God is away from a person they could care less about Him after that.  If there is the slightest tinge of desire to please God, then the person has not crossed the line of no return. God is in the saving business,  not the disposal business.. yet.

Now when the human body ceases to "live", we call that death.  But Jesus/Yeshua at times calls it sleep. When I'm asleep at night,  I'm definately not dead.  My dream state proves that.  I'm very much alive in my dreams. You might say that I'm in another dimension, very much alive.

In the Bible 'sleep' many times refers to a dead human body, the physical mammal called homo sapien. This would be a reasonable way of speaking since there is a resurrection ahead. The body 'sleeps', or dies, but what about the real person?

So "dead" in its reality form is not what we think usually. Moses and Elijah were very much alive when they appeared with Jesus.  Three Apostles witnessed it.  Jesus never said,  "Hello guys,  good to see you and chat. Now go back to sleep."

There IS a resurrection when humans are placed back in Earthly human form. Why?  Cause we are humans and always will be humans. Earth will always be our home.  Earth may change,  but it will still be earth.

The body that rose from the dead,  is not the same body that walked through walls.  People might yell "blasphemy!", but God can appear in any form He chooses, however He chooses, whenever He chooses. Jesus of Nazareth was very human like all the rest of humans. He ate, he slept, he bumped his head. The glorified Jesus body was very different.

After the glorified Jesus body ascended into the clouds, in ten days He returned as a pillar of fire at Pentecost. That is also how He appeared to Israel in the wilderness.  Paul saw a bright light. We simply cannot put God in a box.

So the Jesus body in the tomb was lifeless, or dead, or sleeping. But not Elohim. That piece of Earthly dirt would lay there until God stepped back in it.

So Cain was dead, spiritually, but he was still walking around and fussing at God.

Now the question arises : when my body goes plunk and life leaves it, where am I? Or do I exist?  Or am I asleep? Or am I somewhere?

If the rest of the dead live not until after the resurrection, where are they?  What are they doing?  Or are they not doing at all?

At this point in my understanding,  I believe 'alive' means a person is back in a human homo sapien mammal body or inside another body of some form. Theophany has been called the spiritual body.

Since some people - the rest of the dead that don't live until the end of the Millenium (Revelation 20:5) - are not walking on earth in the Millenium,  then they are not back in a human body.  Therefore, they are "dead" or are "asleep".. and like my dream state, they are possibly alive in another dimension.. waiting. Or maybe they are asleep.

There are quite a few examples in the Bible.  First, it is never said that satan and his fallen angels are ever simply asleep. So it does give us a 'God pattern' to contemplate.

Next is God to Adam.. the day you eat,  the day you die.  Adam was very much awake for nearly 900 years. Some say that a day is a thousand years to the Lord, so technically Adam died in a Lord 'day'. Maybe. That might be stretching it.

Next Enoch "was not". Did he walk with God and then God put him to sleep? Many say Enoch was the first to have a "taking away" or rapture.

Elijah went up on a chariot.. to sleep?

Angels? Are very much awake.

Sleep is very rarely mentioned in the Bible as the destiny after human death.

Jesus said Lazarus sleepeth. This defined death as sleep. My understanding is that Jesus wasn't saying we sleep when we die,  like a good night sleep with no dreams,.. but Jesus was saying that Lazarus was out of his human body. Lazarus was in a nonEarth dimension.

Paul definately went into another dimension and saw things. John saw multitudes.

Now all these examples can be interpretted in different ways. I have best friends who have been taught that if our Earthly body dies then we are asleep, unconscious per se, and do nothing, know nothing, like a computer with the power off. That doesn't bother me if someone sees it that way. Remember, this is not a salvation topic.

I'm simple in that Paul said he had another body to rest in if he humanly died on this side. That makes perfect sense to me and seems to harmonize with multiple examples throughout the Bible.

"For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens." 2 Corinthians 5:1

I prefer to think people are in a bit of a waystation atmosphere of unexplainable Love and Light since that is Who God is. The same as God says on this side that the rain and sun is here for the wheat and tares, so is it for those who die on this side. They are in a very pleasant bus terminal waiting for judgment. Judgment comes later when God separates the true and the false.  Then comes the new heavens and earth for the glorified humans.

How God sorts things on that side I do not fully understand.  If I am Hitler, where am I today.  He could be in that bus terminal too, and he may be evaluating his life,  seeing it clearly. But he is not judged yet and he is not in a burning fire hell. He might be in a prison type mental atmosphere. I don't know.  There is a phrase in the Bible about souls in prison (1 Peter 3:19-20). The Bible is very limited on that.  But I know this,  judgment comes before punishment because God is just.

Was Cain dead? Yes, but he was very much alive on earth.

It is interesting that of the thousands - out of millions - that have been interviewed who had near death experiences, whether they were atheist, born blind, Hindu, love God or hate God, Christian, Buddhist, etc.. they all essentially say the same thing : that it is Light and a Love that cannot be put into human words. It doesn't 'save' them, but they agree on the atmosphere. When they revive on earth, some seek God, some don't. But they all know there is more after this first earthly life. They also know during the experience if they go forward, there is no coming back. If they go forward are they then put to sleep?  Maybe that depends on other factors. There is no Scripture that says the 'Elect' are put to sleep. I'll ponder this.

The Bible in the Revelation of Jesus Christ talks about the millions under the altar crying 'how long Lord until you avenge us of our adversaries?'.  These people are asking for revenge. These cannot be the Gentiles because Saints ask for forgiveness.  This has to be citizens of Israel that were murdered and more.  They are still as they were when on earth.  "We will never forget" is still how they are today.  An eye for an eye.  And they are suppose to be that way until God changes them by His Promise.  Until then,  Israel protects the Torah and the Prophets.

Revelation 6:10 “And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?”

I believe since Adam,  that all humans are born asleep. We need God to awaken us to Himself. We don't even know there is a God. We are asleep. How does God awaken us? He does that by personal attention and revelation. Then if we reject Him fully, we are dead. If we believe and Love our awakening, we will never die.

We have a new body waiting on us. A spiritual body. A theophany body. Then that body will be given its glorified human body. Me, theophany, glorified.. the three pieces come together.. and I'm ready for the Kingdom. Then I'm like Yeshua/Jesus. I'm in His image.  "God in many persons, blessed unity." 🎶
