It strikes me very odd how few follow what Peter spoke on the day of Pentecost right after he received God's Spirit in himself. Jesus had made him the upfront man and for the first time he speaks not as an uneducated fisherman, but he speaks with authority of one of the first people to ever had God Himself dwell inside him. 

What does it matter? This isn't a rule being followed. This is literally the understanding of how God has chosen to communicate with humans as well as how to teach humans about Himself. God will be WITH anyone who asks. But there are also those that God will be IN, and He won't do that unless that person actually knows Him like the 120 did on the day of Pentecost. THIS is what our hearts must be turned back to. And it appears to be totally rare.. that is.. simply obeying by Faith what Peter says and watching it work.

However, others say that the variations in expression in the Bible are simply different ways of saying the same thing."   .. maybe ..

The catholic church answer is that Jesus was speaking to the ones that would baptize others, but Peter, Paul, Cornelius were speaking to those BEING baptized. Pretty weak reasoning in my opinion. Constantine's trinity has to be justified somehow for them.

In some Protestant loops they say that "name" means "in the authority of Jesus" and thus, Jesus said to do it as Father, Son, Holy Ghost. That is nice intellectual logic, especially if Constantine is your template. 

God always does things for the simple in mind.  So the book of the Acts of the Holy Spirit shows us what the common people were told and what they obediently did. After all,  Peter had the key to the Kingdom which some understand as Peter had the revelation of salvation. He would lead, but the "rock" on which the Church would be built is 'revelation' from God.  And guess what,  it never clashed with what God showed Israel as far back as Abraham and jumped back to Adam too. That's is : God is Spirit and God is One.

God is impossible for the mere homosapien mammal called human to understand.  We can't.  We are born not knowing God even exists.  We cannot comprehend 'no beginning'. No man had ever seen God nor can they or will they because God is invisible to the visual frequencies that our eyes see with.  Bees can also see the ultraviolet light frequency. We humans can't. We see a dull flower. The bee sees a strong bright yellow flower. Therefore, we will never see God except in something our eyes can behold. The ultimate behold is Jesus Christ.

Lesson one : we cannot grasp God so God made a way(s) for us to communicate with Him. Humans use a cellphone to communicate with each other; God used a pillar of fire, a cloud, and then a human, Yeshua or Jesus. And that name means God of salvation.. or saved from the loneliness of ourselves. 

So what does God want to show us? What is really important? God of Salvation. Out of God came salvation .. or we call it "son".  The Son of God is Spirit God manifesting salvation.. or simply, opening a person's heart to know God exists.
God then created a human and stepped inside that human. Yeshua's name meant salvation. It was God, a walking talking salvation. Lost means clueless to God. Found means to realize God does exist and is the only God. Jesus is the visual middle that helps us to believe that truth.

All God really wants us to know is that He is real, He is the only God,  and that we can't grasp this simple fact, but it must be believed. Thus the battle through human history. 

Over and over it is always the same goal of God. Let people know He exists and that there is no other.

All the law is wrapped up in one thing, God is Love.. so Love Him.. He's One. Thus makes a person feel small and thus they treat others as kindly as possible. The bigger God is to us, the kind'er we are. The smaller God is to us, the more selfish we become.

So for humans,  God manifested inside a human.. to show He exists.
One God. If I build a car and get inside it, I'm one human inside a car. That is not two persons.

The One God was inside Jesus, the created human. Jesus could only constructively do what God showed him. My car goes where I direct it. 

According to the Bible, Jesus will always be the leader of the pack of humans.  But it is the One invisible Spirit God that will control what God does with this specific kingdom of humans.

Think about it, the Jews didn't kill Jesus. He just allowed Rome to kill him - but remember, only because he let them.  But after that, it was the Jews killing the ones that were called "Christians".  It was later that they were called Christians, a term which could put them in a box.
