Follow Me As I Follow Christ

We all can see Scriptures in the way we are guided by God. There are key moments in time though that certain ordained individuals are revealed something from God - from Scriptures - and they bring that to us. For instance Martin Luther had justification revealed to him. It was the right time, the right season, and it spread.  The people did not necessarily follow Martin Luther's personal revelation, but he represented the 'Light' that God was giving the world. It was the season for the restoration of justification and it spread with or without Martin Luther.  Christians follow God, not men.

Now many might see it different. That's OK.

Here is the Scripture : 1 Corinthians 11:1 "Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ."

And another similarly used : Luke 10:16 "He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me."

Now I often hear that we are to follow Paul.  That contradicts when Paul says :
1Co 3:4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?
1Co 3:5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
1Co 3:6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
1Co 3:7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase."

Paul said not to follow him. Paul said to follow Christ. Paul pointed to Pentecost.

Yes, Paul was a master builder, but he never said to just do as he says and follow him. He did say to follow Christ. He always pointed back to the foundation template of the day of Pentecost. Everything else was just trying to teach and guide these no-it-nothing gentiles how to handle this new freedom in Christ - if they have It.

1Co 3:10 "According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon."

Ok.. So my understanding is Paul is telling us to follow Christ just like he does.

When Jesus is speaking :
He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me."

Now what if "He that hears you hears me" is the Father in Jesus talking to Jesus.
Then "he that despises me despises him that sent me" is Jesus speaking of himself as well as the Father in him. ?
or .. 'the person that despises Jesus, despises the FatherElohim that created Jesus in order to live inside Jesus.'

This thinking harmonizes the two Scriptures. Otherwise, it is easy to say "I follow Paul! and my revelation comes from him!!"  Thus many a bossy preacher is born. They say to follow them or else.

Since the whole goal for the gentiles is "Christ in you the hope of glory', which is what happened at Pentecost, then all Scriptures must always point to that incredible day that God accomplished His next Goal.

If I follow Paul, he is a man and we'll trip over each other all the time.
IF I watch how Paul follows CHRIST, then my focus is a bullseye.
Only God gives revelation to a person. They don't get revelation from Paul or any other human. God has it rigged that way.  All the glory goes to Elohim. He's the Boss.

"But the Prophets! We better do what they say!!" .. this is where it gets sticky.

God always speaks through the mouth of a human to other humans. There are times he makes a donkey talk, or a bright pillar of fire talk.. but keeping it simple since a Prophet is a human mammal homo sapien .. God speaks to humans through a human.

In the Hebrew Bible it was pretty cut and dry. God tells the Prophet. The Prophet tells the People. The People better receive it accordingly. End of subject.

Then came this thing called "Christ in you the hope of glory."  And once that occurs then this thing called 'revelation from God' began.

Goal : Get God inside a soul just like Pentecost, then the Father within a person will quicken by revelation whatever is next on God's script for that person.

The law was easier cause it was do this, do that, good boy.

But revelation is totally dependent on God. Preachers get stuck with this truth. They can preach everyday for a 100 years, but if God does not quicken word upon word by revelation to a person, they just won't get it.  THUS, gentiles organize it into teaching lessons and creeds and doctrines and marketing and music and... ALL of which is helpful ... BUT it will not quicken the word alive for a person.

So what do we do with Paul who must have been a Prophet eventhough he never called himself one?

We look and see how he followed Christ.  Very simple.

Remember, the gentiles hardly knew a thing about the Torah or the Prophets of the Hebrew Testament. There was no 'New Testament'. So Paul was stuck trying to juggle teaching gentiles how to get to their own Pentecost while being beat to death over and over by the angry Jews.

Paul was very clear that he met the LORD on the road to Damascus. He then left the area and God revealed to him the same things that the Disciples of Jesus were guided by. WHY? Because they all had received "Christ in you the hope of glory" which allow THE TEACHER to teach.

Paul still helps us gentiles which are like free birds that have no clue how to fly and to where.
It is easy to move back into laws instead of "Christ in you". But that is wrong.
Paul talks about the freedom in Christ but to not use it unwisely. He basically say 'Don't keep trying to make Pentecost into the Law and the Prophets of Israel !'  Only Paul could juggle that mess.

The point is.. DON'T FOLLOW ME.  That is what I would tell others.  I believe Paul did too.

If I don't know how to get to Salzburg Austria so I can have tea and chocolates, then I need someone(s) to point me in the right direction .. constantly.  That is what Ministers do. That is what true Christians should do for each other. No one gets to toot their own horn. We are signs that help the person to safely get to Salzburg so they can enjoy their tea and chocolates.

FOLLOW CHRIST just like Paul did and Peter and John and Matthew and...

BUT ... no one can truly follow correctly unless they start at Pentecost with the same "Christ in you the hope of glory" which opens the door of personal revelation which will harmonize with Scripture first and leaders secondly.  God has no problem adding to revelation if a person allows.

This is why I always end what I believe... with a comma,

This is what I believe... comma,
