Did God Have To Die?

 No.

First,  Elohim can't die.

Second, Jesus of Nazareth did die.

So for simplicity, we'll use the word 'God' as a merging of both.

So did God have to die?  No. God is so far beyond death that we cannot comprehend it. We cannot even comprehend who/what God is. We only know God by the fraction God has revealed to us about God. Our best visual expression is Jesus of Nazareth.

So why die?  Gentiles love hero worship. They love drama. Jews were already focused on God, or what they call the One and only God. The trinity is foolishness to all those from Adam to Pentecost+. But gentiles needed something to get their attention in order for them to somehow learn that Israel is exactly correct about their One God.

All life on earth is based on death. Bummer. Something always dies (ceases to exist as it is) so something can live. A seed of wheat dies to itself to produce a plant. Animals eat. Humans eat. It all dies and we live.

So the fundamental answer is no, God did not have to die.

But why did God go this route?

More soon..
