Preaching Foolishness

It was once said, "I don't preach what Rev Martin Luther says, I preach the Scriptures that Rev Luther pointed me to. But I don't preach the Scriptures that Rev Luther points to, but I preach the Scripture that God quickens to me that Rev Luther pointed me to."

The Bible says "the foolishness of preaching". Corinthians 1:18-31

Preaching is like the Bible being dead unless God quickens it to someone. Preaching is just lots and lots of dead letter coming forth. If the listeners ask God to quicken something said to them, then it becomes effective. Otherwise, it is a nice seminar based on the Bible and Christian motifs.

A preacher can say all sorts of things. But afterwards if he says that "You are now accountable for what you heard!" ... well, that is folly.  It is not about what a person hears with their ears on their head, but it is the ears of the Soul. If they hunger and ask for something to be quicken, THEN the real TEACHER can go to work.

Whoa! REAL TEACHER?  .. Yep, the One that said He would be our Teacher.. or Quickener, or Revealer.

John 14:26 says, "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall TEACH you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you".

God, Elohim, JHVH, Yeshua, Jesus, SpiritGod,.. is the TEACHER. No one else.  The real Teacher is the only One that can quicken Scripture to a person.

Back to Rev. Martin Luther. He could say lots of wonderful things and write numerous books and speak multiple sermons - but it is all human air unless God quickens Himself through it. And it will always point to Scripture which Itself points to God's Character.

I use "The Plan" instead of "The Word". Our languages are so bad that the word "word" gets all tangled up in our brains. We quickly go straight to law, or book of rules, or do and dont, or dictatorship, or self verbal goals.

So if I say, "In the beginning was The Plan, and The Plan was with God, and The Plan was God, and The Plan became flesh and dwelt among us, and The Plan became flesh again at Pentecost, an nothing can stop The Plan." - then it all makes better sense to me because God had/has a Plan since before He created anything we know about.

What is The Plan? Simple. To create something, bring it back to Himself, step inside it, glorify it, and then gather it all into a specific Kingdom made specifically for this glorified human mammal.  All we know about God is Him trying to help anyone who asks to get There.

So there is no ego in preaching. A man, yes it has to be a man, that preaches gets smaller and smaller, never bigger and bigger. Because a man preaching realizes how foolish the whole thing is. Talk talk talk, but totally dependent on God TEACHING the listeners.  The simpler he can say it, the easier it is to remember, and the easier it is for God to quicken it alive to a person. The temptation for a preacher is to think he can teach the people. He'll often add that it has to get from the brain to the heart. He knows only God can do that. The preacher must never make himself the teacher - which is a great temptation because it is easier to teach like a professor than to cast seed and know only God can make it useful. It is humbling.

"If you can get the people to believe you.." then one thing happens .. the people trust what you are telling them can be quickened. If they trust that the preacher knows God and is being taught by God, then the words are better equipped to be accepted and prayed about.

Now, evangelistic services, or deliverance services, are different in the sense that many times they are to encourage or set a mood for Faith and Gifts to work.  Faith is a revelation from God. Gifts are given by God to help give a boost to the FaithRevelation the person is having.

Not preach quotes.. preach the Scriptures the quotes point to. The quotes are so helpful. The Scriptures quickened will always identify God's Character and Plan.

This is what I believe.. comma,
